RUMOR: Could Ahsoka Tano Be in Episode VII?

Star Wars Underworld reported that more details about Lupita Nyong’o’s character for The Force Awakens have been revealed, although without a confirmed source, so take this with a grain of salt.

It was previously reported that Nyong’o’s character was code named Rose and was portrayed through motion capture.  Now we can tell you that here character is an elderly, female alien with orange skin.

Remember, it was also speculated that Nyong’o would be portraying Count Dooku’s former assassin Asajj Ventress a while back. But with this news, it looks like a new rumor has taken a foothold: could the orange-skinned alien described in fact be an older Ahsoka Tano?

Ahsoka was around 14 when she was apprenticed to Anakin Skywalker at the time of the Clone Wars, and given that Episode VII takes place thirty years after Return of the Jedi, that would put Ahsoka around 70 (she was 17 when the Clone Wars ended, add 19 years until the Battle of Yavin in A New Hope, 4 more until the Battle of Endor at the end of Return of the Jedi, then 30 for The Force Awakens).

(Math and nerd facts. Aren’t they a great combination?) Of course, misdirection and secrecy while filming are staples of Abrams films, so the female alien could in fact be a completely new character altogether. But wouldn’t it be great to see Snips on the big screen still trolling around kicking butt?

What do you guys think? Could this be Ahsoka? Would you want to see a TCW character on the big screen?

  1. Please this be legit and be the case! Would be awesome if she is in it, she is an awesome character, one of my favorites, and so unique , she had a one of a kind relationship with Anakin Skywalker, being his only Padawan ever.
